Georgia | SolidWorks Advanced Surfacing & Complex ShapesSolidWorks Advanced Surfacing & Complex Shapes
Length: 2 days
Prerequisites: Advanced Parts class or
extensive experience with complex shapes. This is not a beginning
user class.
Description: This class picks up where the
Advanced Part class leaves off, and goes into detail about how to
achieve complex shapes using all the tools available. In this class
we also walk the student through surface modeling techniques and
the interchange between solids and surfaces. There are many
creative example parts on a CD that accompanies the class material.
The topics covered in this course are:
- Curves - 2D/3D splines, intersection, projected and composite
curves
- Sweeps, Lofts - set up, best practice, tricks to achieve common
shapes
- Solids only functions - deform, dome, shape, delete face
- Surfaces only functions - fill, delete hole, replace face,
trim/untrim/extend
- Advanced filleting - variable/multi radius, face, hold line,
full round, setback and curvature continuous, fillet ordering
- Model evaluation - draft, undercut, curvature, zebra-stripe and
deviation analysis
- Manipulating imported data - de- and re-constructing imported
geometry, import part repair
